PM Narendra Modi has announced the extension of Lockdown till May 3 to tackle the spread of novel coronavirus. He addressed the nation through the Television on Thursday of April 14 which is the last day of the first declared 21 days lockdown at 10:00 am. During the addressing, the Narendra Modi thanked the Indian citizens in helping to tackle the coronavirus. The regions with no hotspots will get partial relief. Few relaxations may be allowed in areas after April 20 if they show improvement.
Odisha named the first state to extend its states lockdown till April 30. The state CM Navin Patnaik "urges the central government to extend its state lockdown till April 30" says. The Educational institutions in Odisha remain closed till June 17. Odisha CM said that the state government is proposing the one lakh rapid testing in the future as soon as possible.
The number of coronavirus cases in India reaches over 10,000 and a total of more than 350 deaths. The Decision of extending was taken by the central government after the meeting held with all of the state Governments CM on Saturday, April 11. The Coronavirus cases in India doubled to over 10,000 in six days.
Narendra Modi also thanked the Indians citizens in helping the fight against the coronavirus and also he addresses the Indian citizens "in future India is requiring the help to fight against COVID-19". During the Fighting of COVID-19, two Indian Doctors died one is from Madya Pradesh aged 62 years old and another is from Andhra Pradesh named Dr. Lakshminarayan Reddy, Nellore.
The Seven Points has PM Modi urged Indians to follow during the Lockdown:
- Take special care of the elderly, especially those with underlying medical conditions.
- Follow social distancing, wear masks
- Improve Immunity
- Download the "Aarogya Setu" app which was introduced by the government due to the tackling of coronavirus.
- Take care of the poor. Provide basic facilities to poor people as possible.
- Take care of Employees, don't fire them
- Respect police and other authorities in their efforts aganist coronavirus.
